Funding

EgaFem tried to avoid asking for money for as long as possible. But as time progressed there was only so much money we could justify spending out of our own pockets. EgaFem is a part/full time job, and competes with our day jobs. In order for EgaFem to expand, grow and be better it needs more time and effort. This costs money. However, we will try to keep all content free at the point of use.

For more info on allowable expenses see the Gov.UK website [1].

How to financially support EgaFem

What does the money go on?

  • EgaFem Website – articles, campaigns, research, thought experiments, opinions.
  • Specific Projects such as EqualPlay – our Video Game gender comparison series on YouTube.
  • EgaFem Admin Costs
Pre-Tax
  • Research
  • Consumables e.g. bulbs, paper, ink
  • Clothing e.g. wigs, make-up bought specifically for EgaFem
  • Branding and advertising
  • Travel Expenses
  • Staff expenses
  • Legal and financial costs
  • Software & software licences
  • Marking, and subscriptions
  • Running costs – contribute towards bills such as the broadband, water, heating, rent/ mortgage, Xbox Live, etc.
  • Payback loans used on allowable expenses
Post-Tax
  • Profit / Pay for more time and effort – in time this will allow more content and the expansion of EgaFem. Maybe even allowing some members to work on it full/ part-time.
  • Charities (after-tax and effectively come out of the profits)

Personal use still costs money! The amount of planned personal use may impact how quickly we can afford to buy certain equipment. Why do I specify? Because not only does the UK Government need me too for tax purposes, but it isn’t fair for you to fund my personal lifestyle.
